The Bashen (Suloise for "eight-spirits") was the main pantheon of the Empire of Su. It is rarely practiced in the modern day and not well understood by the general population.
There are eight gods (also referred to as "spirits") that make up the Bashen pantheon. Each of these 8 gods represent a certain virtue that was of deep importance to the Suloise.

Shang Ye is found in the head. She lives within realms and is as swift as the air. She represents elegance and stealth. Her animal spirit form is a fox. She wields a pair of falchions that she can use to shrink to easily conceal. She is dressed in cloth of golden orange. Shang Ye's highest ideal is the mastery of the unseen. Anything that achieves true balance attains invisible perfection. The greatest mysteries are hard to find. Shang Ye's services include meditation, reading and dancing. Shang Ye's holy day is that of the autumnal equinox, marking the day between darkness and light.
Bai Chang is found in the mouth. She represents purity and pleasure. Her animal spirit form is a bird. She has white hair and blue eyes. She wears a gown trimmed in silver and gold. Music is key in her teachings, and light permits the ignorant to see the truth. Bai Chang is favored by musicians, bards and women seeking fame.
Zhandou is found is the eyes. He represents humanity, courage and adaptability. His animal spirit form is a tiger. He stands over 9 feet tall and has a red beard with red hair. He wears a girdle made from a red dragon's hide. He is a foe of dragonkind. Zhandou resents cowardice, and teaches that the strong and fit should rule the weak.
Mofa is found in the feet. She represents arcane knowledge, science, medicine and initiative. her animal spirit form is the dragon. Mofa promotes the progress of knowledge in each individual for the sake of their self-improvement. She supports women's education and helps women who want to travel.
Shijian is found in the thighs. He represents patience, gentle entrance (wu wei), the future and the past. His animal spirit form is a hawk. He has a long, white beard, and wields a flaming sword. He teaches that the present should be kept in perspective. Time is infinite, and what seems important now may not be so critical in the long term. One must look at the stretch of history and the greater universe in order to see the significance of what is perceived with the immediate senses. Shijian knows that age brings experience, wisdom, and the urge to take things more slowly.
Bolang is found the ears. She represents the coming and going of forces, and the ever-motion of life. Her animal spirit form is a whale. She wears a ring carved from a whale's tooth and wields a trident.
Mimi is found in the hands. He represents vigilance and the art of silence and tranquility. His animal spirit form is a wolf. He wields a dagger called Small Lie, and a rod called Harsh Truth. Mimi teaches to protect their knowledge by shielding it with lies. Followers are told that their tongues are potentially more deadly than any blade. They must be able to keep their secrets, even if it means sacrificing a great deal. This is known as leaving a dead wolf. Tell lies and truth when convenient, and betraying a fool is the best gift they can be given.
Ouran is found in the belly. He represents risk-taking and proactiveness. His animal spirit form is a bull. He loves to play dice games. He teaches that action is better than reaction. Although it might be riskier, worshippers should take that risk, for their fate would be far worse had they done nothing.
